Class of 2025, apply for our scholarship by Friday, March 28!

Each year, the credit union accepts scholarship applications from students who are graduating high school that year, and three applicants are selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to assist with post-secondary education costs.

 

Who can apply for the scholarship?

You must fulfill all of these criteria in order to apply:

  • Be a member of the BFCU
  • Be a high school senior on track to graduate before the Fall 2024 college semester begins.
  • Be scheduled to begin a post-secondary educational institution in Fall 2024
 

Where can I get a copy of the application?

  • Pick a paper copy of the form up from the credit union (700 E Sharon Ave, Houghton).
 

How do I apply for the scholarship from BFCU?

  1. Complete the application form.
  2. Turn in the completed form, along with a one-page essay and two reference letters, by Friday, March 28, 2025.
 

What happens next if I am one of the chosen recipients?

We will contact you to let you know if you won.  Recipients should attend our Annual Meeting (date TBD) to accept the award, and in order to claim the funds, you will need to provide the BFCU with a copy of your fall semester course schedule.

We will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
